Are you feeling anxious, lost or depressed? Are you finding interactions with other people difficult or confusing? Have you recently lost someone or something important to you? Do you wonder when you will feel like 'yourself' again?
Perhaps I can help you. I can provide you with a comfortable and friendly space to explore things you might not be able to talk about with others. I will listen to anything you wish to bring to sessions, without judgement, and offer you the opportunity to challenge and explore the beliefs that might be making life difficult. We all have a past and when that past encroaches on the present it can prevent you from leading the life you would like, but it is always possible to change this. We all need a bit of help sometimes and counselling can provide you with shelter from the storm, and a weekly opportunity to build up your resources ready to face life's challenges.
If you have any questions about how it all works, feel free to email me. I know that making this decision can be hard but my aim is to make this process as easy as I can for you.
I have particular experience of working with trauma, depression, anxiety and panic attacks, bereavement, sexual abuse, suicidal feelings, neurodiversity and existential crises but will work with whatever you need to process. I work from a place of non-judgement and authenticity and you can expect honesty and integrity from me at all stages.
I work from home in Copmanthorpe in York in a discreet and private space. I will usually see you in person but also offer the option of telephone or video calls if you are unable to travel to York. There is plenty of parking outside, and wheelchair access to the house. I currently offer appointments on Saturdays and Sundays mornings and weekdays before 4pm.
Cost: £50 for an hour.

There are times in life when we are struggling, feeling depressed, overwhelmed or want to explore something that is causing us to feel stuck. Having someone to talk to and explore our feelings with in a safe, caring and understanding space can make a huge difference.
I provide a non-directive and collaborative place for you to explore what’s bothering you, following your lead and respecting your pace. I have experience of working with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, past events, and relationship problems.
I am warm, caring, and authentic. I believe counselling helps us to look at what we’re experiencing and brings an awareness to how we respond to life’s challenges. This can give you an insight into the choices you have, to help you to grow and feel more confident to make those choices, improving your life and how you feel.
I work in person 2 days per week in Heworth and I also have Zoom appointments if preferred. Please note in person sessions are in a first-floor office up 1 flight of stairs.
I offer a free 15 min telephone conversation where we can talk about what you would like to get from counselling and ask me any questions you might have, whilst getting a sense of whether you feel I could be the right counsellor for you at this time.
Cost: £45 for 50minutes

I am a qualified Integrative counsellor and offer a warm and non-judgemental space for you to explore your difficulties. I work in a collaborative and non-directive way, meaning that I will not tell you what to do, but will work alongside you to explore and overcome difficulties that are unique to you and your story, at your own pace.
At some point in our lives, we may all experience a feeling of being lost, overwhelmed, or stuck within life’s limitations or past experiences and events. These feelings can impact our daily lives, in our work, relationships and ultimately our happiness. We may feel a lack of fulfilment, sadness or shame and feel that this is preventing us from enjoying life. We may feel limited or oppressed through our circumstances and feel unable to make choices. Understanding our emotional needs through the process of counselling and self-reflection can help to gain an awareness and greater acceptance of who we are and where we are headed. Counselling can help us to understand our unique place in the world and our interactions and relationships within it.
I currently offer telephone and online video counselling through Zoom. I will try to get back in contact within 24hrs to arrange a set time for me to call. This initial consultation will be around twenty minutes and is free of charge. It allows us time to work out
whether my way of working is suitable for you.
I understand that accessing counselling can be a significant financial commitment and therefore there is no expectation on how often we should meet. It may suit you to meet weekly, fortnightly, or even monthly, depending on your situation and budget. You may wish to start more regularly and lessen the frequency over time.
