Are you feeling anxious, lost or depressed? Are you struggling to make sense of your life? Are you finding interactions with other people difficult or confusing? Have you recently lost someone or something important to you? Do you find everyday life exhausting or wonder when you will feel like 'yourself' again?
Imagine you are trying to traverse a set of monkey-bars. Maybe you used to swing easily from bar to bar, or maybe its always been a challenge. Counselling is a bit like having someone standing underneath - to shout encouragement, to be ready to catch you so you can take a risk, or to offer you a safe way to fall and a compassionate landing.
I have particular experience of working with trauma, anxiety and panic attacks, bereavement, sexual abuse, suicidal feelings and existential crises. However, I work from a place of non-judgement and I will be on your side whatever you bring.
I work from home in Copmanthorpe in York in a discreet and private space. The room allows for social distancing, so I am seeing clients face to face, but also offer the option of telephone or video calls if you are unable to travel to York or are shielding. There is plenty of parking outside, and wheelchair access to the house. I offer appointments during the day in the week and on a Saturday morning. Please get in touch to negotiate other times.
Cost: £45 for an hour. I also offer discounts for students and those on a low income, so do ask if you need a reduction.
Phone: 07759 424240 (please leave a message and I will ring you back)
I offer a calm and reflective space for you to safely explore life experiences, challenges and changes that you may encounter. Sometimes, we can feel overwhelmed or confused by what we are faced with; counselling offers a journey of self-discovery in a compassionate empowering space. I am a gentle and empathic person who creates a welcoming and accepting environment for clients to feel fully heard. I believe fundamentally in the strength of the relationship between client and counsellor and the path to recovery this can lead to.
